Hermit Crab found by the door
I have always thought of myself as clear headed. The story all started about a month ago. I had returned from work to my apartment. I noticed a small cage on the step. Igoring the cage, I went into my apartment. I went outside again the cage was still there. I decided to take it inside. The cage contain a shell with a crab tightly wrapped within. I went to work to try to warm up the hermit crab. I went to Petco to get supplies. A employee I spoke to had hermit crabs herself. She helped me with some suggestions. I picked up a tank. I went to Lowes close to closing for some sand. I set up the tank and placed the frozen crab within. I decided the next day to added another to help get the frozen crab out of its shell. I went shopping for food, dishes, and heat lamp. I spoke with the Petco employee again for more information. searching the internet for whatever knowledge I could absord. I found youtube videos. I even added two more crabs, since they usually live in colonials. At this moment, it hit me. I just started a hermit crab farm. I could not believe that I did this. What happens when I have to move? What about losing electricity?
Couple of days later, I finally accepted that the frozen crab was in fact dead. I gave it a nice place to rest in peace. I am now have three crabs along with two cats. I believe this is the results of the large amount of time I have had to myself. I have discovered a great deal about these little guys. Hermit crabs are so important for our natural world. we human either treat them as though they don't exist or a threw away pet for our childern. We really need to reconnect to our world around us.
